I felt that any serious filmmaker—much like any serious 1950s homemaker—should shoot some 8mm film footage at least once in their lifetime. So, I bought an 8mm Bolex on eBay, found a local film lab that still sold 8mm film, and took the old-timey contraption with me on a trip to Seattle with my future wife and her family.
